Dr. Amy Richter understands that each patient’s orthodontic needs are unique. She takes the time to evaluate each patient individually, discussing their goals and expectations before developing a personalized treatment plan that may include one or more than one orthodontic options:

Dr. Richter offers complimentary consultations to new patients to determine whether you or your child needs orthodontic care to correct misaligned or crooked teeth. At this appointment, she fully explains her suggested treatment plan and answers all questions.

Dr. Richter lives in East Amherst, and enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Her hobbies include reading, cooking and camping. Dr. Richter grew up on a farm, a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, and continues to have a strong love of animals to this day. She fosters homeless animals for a local pet rescue organization, and herself has a rescued cattle dog, Sydney; and three adopted cats, Ace, Lucy, and Gladys.

Dr. Richter graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Gannon University in her hometown of Erie, PA. She graduated with High Honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, OH where she earned the Delta Sigma Delta Academic Achievement Award and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Scholarship Award.

Dr. Richter earned both a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree from the prestigious University of Michigan in 2008, where she obtained an outstanding clinical education in treating orthodontic patients with the latest technologies available. She has earned the distinction of being named a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics by completing both written and oral examinations and presenting pre- and post-treatment records of her patients in order to demonstrate a high level of clinical proficiency.

Dr. Richter’s research, “Incidence of Caries Lesions Among Patients Treated with Comprehensive Orthodontics,” has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Her research has been cited numerous times by other authors and presented at dental meetings on an international level.
